Success story of the month - We are happy to share success story of the month. Irvene worked really hard with her physical therapist to gain her strength and improve her balance to resume walking in the community with cane all by herself.

When Irvene started with us she was experiencing chronic low back pain with fear of walking in neighborhood by herself, she worked really hard to strengthen her core,back muscles and to improve balance so that she is more independent and enjoy outdoor !Our PT was able to assess home hazards as well as outdoor hazard to prevent any falls in future and we are glad that Irvene was open and cooperative with some changes in /outside her house for her own safety.

It’s that time of year again when weather and colors are changing, the leaves falling, and the festive season is right on the horizon

Exercise Regularly - Keeping the upcoming winter in mind get as much as physical activity in fall as possible .most of are less mobile during the winter so we must get some workout regimen in the fall. if you cant go to gym specially due to coronavirus situation try home workouts .There are numerous resources available online .You can also get help of professional Physical and Occupational therapist to create customized plan for you .


Walking outdoors - The key to staying safe when you’re out walking is to stay within your limits. If you’re struggling with mobility, try to go out for a walk with others so you won’t fall unattended. Stick to walking around your neighborhood and visiting a local park if you can’t undertake a more ambitious walk. You should also remember to wear a face mask and observe social distancing when you’re outside. As a senior, you’re at heightened risk of complications from coronavirus, so take no chances and pop on a mask along with your warmer clothing.


Preparing a Senior’s for Winter - here are some important things to remember to complete before the winter -Arrange for ice and snow removal, Get the chimney professionally cleaned, Equip for emergencies, Get the house ready, Schedule doctors appointment in fall so you dont have to go out during winter for regular visits .
